Ai+, the smartphone brand led by industry veteran Madhav Sheth, is getting ready to enter the foldable smartphone segment in India. The company has officially teased its first flip-style foldable device, called the Ai+ Nova Flip, signaling a bold new step for the young brand. This move comes at a time when interest in foldable phones is steadily growing in the Indian market, even though the segment is still dominated by premium players.
The first teaser for the Ai+ Nova Flip was shared by Madhav Sheth himself on X. Along with a short video clip, he posted the line, “Some things are better when flipped”, instantly hinting at a clamshell-style foldable design. The teaser video carries the tagline “SEE YOU ON THE FLIP SIDE” and ends with a clear “Coming Soon” message, confirming that the launch timeline is not too far away.
Although Ai+ has not disclosed the exact launch date yet, the teaser suggests that the brand has already entered the final stages of its pre-launch campaign.
While specifications remain under wraps, the teaser does offer a brief look at the Nova Flip’s design. The phone appears in a Silver or Grey colour finish, giving it a clean and minimal look. The overall design language seems simple and refined, staying away from overly flashy elements.
On the right side of the device, the volume buttons are placed above the power key. The power button also appears to double as a fingerprint scanner, which is a practical choice for a flip-style phone. Notably, the power button features a red accent, adding a subtle contrast to the otherwise muted colour scheme.
Antenna lines are visible along the frame, and the camera module slightly protrudes from the back panel, indicating a raised camera housing. These small details suggest that Ai+ is focusing on a balanced design that prioritizes functionality along with aesthetics.
The Nova Flip will be the third smartphone from Ai+ Smartphone. The brand previously launched the Pulse and Nova 5G models in July, marking its entry into the Indian smartphone market. Recently, both of these phones also received a new Red colour variant, expanding their colour options beyond the five shades they originally debuted with.
By introducing a foldable device so early in its product journey, Ai+ is clearly aiming to stand out in a crowded market and explore newer form factors that are still relatively uncommon in its price-focused segment.
With the Nova Flip, Ai+ Smartphone appears to be targeting a more accessible take on flip-style foldables. Currently, most flip phones available in India sit firmly in the premium price bracket, limiting their appeal to a niche audience. Ai+ may be looking to bridge this gap by offering a foldable phone that appeals to users curious about the form factor but unwilling to spend flagship-level prices.
While this positioning has not been officially confirmed, it aligns well with Ai+’s existing strategy of delivering feature-rich smartphones at competitive prices.
As the teaser campaign continues, more information about the Ai+ Nova Flip is expected to surface in the coming days. Details such as display size, hinge mechanism, camera specifications, battery capacity, and pricing will play a crucial role in determining how competitive the phone will be in the Indian market.
For now, the Nova Flip stands as an interesting development, showcasing Ai+’s ambition to innovate and experiment beyond traditional smartphone designs. If priced right, it could help make flip-style foldable phones more approachable for Indian consumers.
