Huawei has officially confirmed that it will host a major product launch event on September 4 at 2:30 PM (local time) in China. The centerpiece of the event will be the unveiling of the Huawei Mate XTs Extraordinary Master, the brand’s next-generation triple-folding flagship smartphone. Ahead of the launch, several details surrounding its design, hardware, and pricing have surfaced online, giving enthusiasts a clearer picture of what to expect.
The Mate XTs is Huawei’s second triple-folding smartphone, continuing the design philosophy of its predecessor but with refined touches. According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the device will debut in two fresh color options – White and Crimson Purple. Among them, White will serve as the primary promotional shade. The improved design reflects Huawei’s strategy of blending futuristic engineering with consumer appeal, making the Mate XTs a unique addition to the foldable segment.
At the heart of the Mate XTs lies the Kirin 9020 chipset, also featured in the Huawei Pura 80 series. Built on a 1+3+4 core CPU architecture paired with the Maleoon 920 GPU, the chip is expected to deliver strong performance and efficiency. Notably, the device also supports satellite communication, extending connectivity in remote and critical scenarios – a feature Huawei has been gradually expanding across its premium portfolio.
One of the most significant upgrades comes in the form of the Tiangong Hinge System. Huawei claims the new hinge structure enhances durability while reducing the visibility of the crease – a challenge that most foldable devices continue to face. This improvement not only strengthens long-term usability but also elevates the overall foldable experience.
On the imaging front, the Mate XTs brings a 50-megapixel main camera with a variable aperture that supports “Red Maple” true colour imaging for more accurate tones and lifelike visuals. Complementing this setup is a periscope telephoto camera, a welcome addition for enhanced zoom capabilities. With Huawei’s history of pushing imaging innovation, the Mate XTs is set to appeal strongly to mobile photography enthusiasts.
Another notable addition is stylus support, which broadens the device’s functionality for productivity-driven users. This could position the Mate XTs not just as a smartphone but also as a versatile tool for professionals and creatives.
The previous Mate XT achieved remarkable success, selling over 500,000 units and generating 12.54 billion Yuan (approx. $1.73 billion) in revenue. With significant upgrades and a lower expected starting price of around 15,000 Yuan (~$2,060), compared to the earlier model’s 19,999 Yuan (~$2,750), analysts believe the Mate XTs could reach one million units in sales.
The Huawei Mate XTs is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious foldable smartphones of 2025. With cutting-edge design, a powerful chipset, enhanced hinge technology, and a strong focus on imaging, Huawei is not just refining its triple-folding vision but also making it more accessible with a competitive price point. All eyes are now set on September 4, when the Mate XTs will officially make its debut in China.
