Motorola has expanded its affordable smartphone lineup with the launch of the Moto G06, announced on September 5, 2025. Set to release later this month, the Moto G06 aims to deliver a balanced experience with a large display, long-lasting battery, and a clean Android 15 interface, all at a budget-friendly price. The phone is expected to debut in India starting from ₹7,999, making it an attractive choice for value-conscious buyers.
The Moto G06 is built with a glass front, plastic frame, and silicone polymer back with an eco-leather finish, offering a premium feel in an affordable segment. It measures 171.4 x 77.5 x 8.3 mm, giving it a sturdy profile. The phone carries an IP64 rating, making it resistant to dust and minor water splashes. Motorola is also offering the Moto G06 in four stylish Pantone colors – Laurel Oak, Arabesque, Tapestry, and Tendril.
A key highlight is its 6.88-inch IPS LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smoother scrolling and animations. Though it offers an HD+ resolution (720 x 1640 pixels, ~260 ppi), the larger screen size makes it a good fit for entertainment and casual use. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 provides added durability against scratches.
Under the hood, the Moto G06 runs on the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra (12nm) chipset, paired with an octa-core CPU and Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. The device comes in multiple configurations – 64GB with 4GB RAM, 128GB with 4GB RAM, and 256GB with 8GB RAM, along with a dedicated microSDXC slot for storage expansion. Out of the box, it ships with Android 15, ensuring a modern software experience with better privacy controls and optimization.
The Moto G06 keeps things simple with a single 50MP rear camera featuring PDAF, HDR, and LED flash. It supports 1080p video recording at 30fps. On the front, there’s an 8MP selfie camera with HDR support, also capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps.
The device caters to multimedia users with stereo speakers and retains the much-loved 3.5mm headphone jack. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C 2.0, and GPS, GALILEO, GLONASS positioning systems. NFC support will be available depending on the market.
Powering the phone is a 5200 mAh battery, designed to last comfortably through a full day of usage. However, charging is limited to 10W wired, which may feel modest compared to faster-charging rivals.
The Moto G06 is expected to launch in India at a starting price of ₹7,999, placing it in the budget-friendly category. With multiple variants available, users can choose storage and RAM combinations that suit their needs.
