Samsung has officially started rolling out the One UI 8.5 beta update for its Galaxy S25 series, bringing a fresh wave of improvements designed to make smartphones smarter, smoother, and more intuitive. This update enhances Photo Assist to deliver a faster, unbroken editing experience. Users can generate new images continuously without having to save every version. Each edit is stored automatically in the background, allowing creators to focus on perfecting their content.
A detailed edit history now allows users to browse through all creative iterations at once. This makes it easier than ever to review, compare, and select the best version of every photo, ensuring a seamless and organized workflow.
One UI 8.5 also upgrades Quick Share with smarter recognition capabilities. The system can now identify people in images and proactively recommend sending those photos directly to the relevant contacts. This makes file sharing simpler and more intuitive, especially for social and professional content creators.

The new Audio Broadcast feature brings enhanced communication options to LE Audio-supported Galaxy devices using Auracast. Along with streaming audio from media apps, users can now broadcast their own voice using the phone’s microphone. Storage Share simplifies the Galaxy ecosystem by showing files from other Galaxy devices — including tablets and PCs — directly in the My Files app. Users can also access their phone’s files from other Samsung devices such as TVs, making file management across the Galaxy ecosystem more fluid than ever.

Samsung’s Theft Protection ensures that phones and data remain safe even in the event of loss or theft. It limits access to sensitive functions and prevents unauthorized use of key features.
This security enhancement automatically locks the device if too many failed attempts are detected when verifying identity through PIN, password, or fingerprint. It prevents unauthorized access and provides peace of mind for users concerned about privacy.

Samsung will initially release the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series in several key markets, including India, Germany, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the United States. Interested Galaxy users can apply to join the beta through the Samsung Members app starting December 8.
