Samsung has officially introduced its latest mid-range lineup – the Galaxy A56, A36, and A26 – bringing flagship-level features to the budget-friendly segment. With a sleek new design philosophy, advanced AI capabilities, and a promise of six years of software support, these devices set a new benchmark in the industry.
Following the successful launch of the Galaxy S25 series in January, Samsung is now focusing on strengthening its position in the competitive mid-range market. The Galaxy A series bridges the gap between budget and premium, offering long-term software support, 5G connectivity, and durable designs at prices ranging from $299 to $549. With stiff competition from OnePlus, Xiaomi, and Motorola, Samsung’s latest offering is poised to make a strong impact.
All three models – Galaxy A56, A36, and A26 – feature a large 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Boasting an impressive peak brightness of 1900 nits (1200 nits in high brightness mode), these screens promise an immersive viewing experience. Additionally, the IP67 rating ensures dust resistance and submersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes, reinforcing Samsung’s commitment to durability.
The Galaxy A56 is powered by Samsung’s homegrown Exynos 1580 chipset, paired with the AMD Xclipse 540 GPU. It comes in 8GB or 12GB RAM variants with 128GB or 256GB of storage. This powerful combination ensures seamless multitasking and gaming performance.
The Galaxy A36 opts for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, built on a 6nm process, and features the Adreno 710 GPU. Like the A56, it offers up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, making it a capable device for daily tasks and entertainment.
For budget-conscious buyers, the Galaxy A26 is equipped with the Exynos 1380 processor and a Mali-G68 MP5 GPU. It comes with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage, expandable up to 1TB via microSD—a feature absent in the A56 and A36. Notably, the A26 retains a 3.5mm headphone jack, a rarity in modern smartphones.
Samsung continues its tradition of delivering impressive camera performance. The Galaxy A56 features a 50MP main sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP macro sensor. Selfie lovers will appreciate the 12MP front camera.
The Galaxy A36 shares a similar camera setup but replaces the 12MP ultra-wide lens with an 8MP version.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy A26 sports a 50MP primary camera, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 2MP macro sensor, along with a 13MP front camera.
All three devices run One UI 7.0 based on Android 15 and come with Samsung’s commitment to six years of OS updates and security patches, extending support until 2031. This ensures users enjoy the latest features and security improvements for years to come, surpassing even some flagship competitors. Samsung has also incorporated advanced AI features to enhance user experience.
Each model houses a 5,000mAh battery, ensuring all-day power. The Galaxy A56 and A36 support 45W fast charging, while the A26 comes with 25W charging support. However, in line with Samsung’s recent approach, no charger is included in the box.
The Galaxy A56 starts at $499 for 8GB/128GB, with the 8GB/256GB variant priced at $549. Color options include Awesome Lightgray, Awesome Graphite, Awesome Olive, and Awesome Pink.
The Galaxy A36 is priced at $399 for 6GB/128GB, while the 8GB/256GB variant costs $415. It is available in Awesome Lavender, Awesome Black, Awesome White, and Awesome Lime.
The most affordable model, the Galaxy A26, starts at $299 for 6GB/128GB, with the 8GB/256GB variant priced at $375. Buyers can choose from Black, White, Mint, and Peach Pink.
Indian pricing is set to be revealed on March 3, 2025, with availability details expected to follow.
With the Galaxy A56, A36, and A26, Samsung is redefining the mid-range segment by bringing premium design, powerful hardware, long-term software support, and flagship-inspired cameras to a wider audience. These devices are well-equipped to compete with rivals, making them an attractive choice for consumers looking for longevity, performance, and affordability.
