Vivo has expanded its smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of the Vivo Y31 on September 15, 2025. The device is already available for purchase and aims to deliver a balance of performance, durability, and long-lasting battery life at an affordable price point.
The Vivo Y31 comes with a sturdy build, measuring 166.1 x 77 x 8.4 mm and weighing 209 grams. It supports dual Nano-SIM cards and offers enhanced protection with IP68/IP69 certification, making it dust-tight, water-resistant up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes, and resistant to high-pressure water jets. Additionally, it is MIL-STD-810H compliant, ensuring higher durability, though Vivo clarifies it is not guaranteed for extreme rugged use.
At the front, the device features a 6.68-inch IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gaming. It supports up to 1000 nits brightness (HBM), making it usable even under direct sunlight. The screen resolution stands at 720 x 1608 pixels with ~264 ppi density, protected by Guardian Glass (ion-strengthened) for better durability.
Under the hood, the Vivo Y31 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 (4nm) chipset, paired with the Adreno 613 GPU. It uses an octa-core CPU (2x Cortex-A78 at 2.2GHz & 6x Cortex-A55 at 1.95GHz), ensuring smooth multitasking and efficiency.
On the software front, the device runs on Android 15 with Funtouch 15, bringing a modern UI with Vivo’s latest features, including Circle to Search for easier navigation and smart content discovery.
The Vivo Y31 comes in two variants:
It also supports microSDXC expansion via the shared SIM slot. However, it relies on eMMC 5.1 storage, which is slower compared to UFS storage but keeps costs down for budget-conscious buyers.
For photography, the Vivo Y31 features a 50 MP wide primary camera with PDAF and an auxiliary lens to enhance imaging capabilities. The rear camera supports Ring-LED flash and panorama mode, and records 1080p videos at 30fps.
On the front, the device houses an 8 MP selfie camera, capable of capturing clear photos and 1080p video recording, making it suitable for video calls and social media content.
One of the biggest highlights of the Vivo Y31 is its massive 6500 mAh battery, designed for long-lasting usage. It supports 44W wired fast charging, capable of charging up to 50% in just 38 minutes. Additionally, it includes reverse wired charging, allowing the phone to act as a power bank for other devices.
The device is equipped with stereo speakers and Hi-Res 24-bit/192kHz audio, though it skips the 3.5mm headphone jack. For connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 5 (a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, and QZSS positioning systems. However, it lacks NFC and FM radio. The phone charges via a USB Type-C 2.0 port with OTG support.
The side-mounted fingerprint sensor ensures quick unlocking, while other sensors like accelerometer, proximity, and compass enhance the user experience.
The Vivo Y31 is available in two attractive color options: Rose Red and Diamond Green. The Vivo Y31 5G price in India starts at ₹14,999, making it an appealing choice for those looking for a durable, long-battery smartphone at an affordable price.
