The EarFun Free 2S is a pair of budget-friendly true wireless earbuds aimed at users who want strong bass, clear calls, long battery life and useful app controls without spending a lot. It combines 7mm composite dynamic drivers with four microphones, an IPX7 waterproof rating and support for wireless charging.
At $32.98 in the US, the Free 2S sits firmly in the affordable earbuds category. Its feature set is particularly interesting for people who want customizable sound and practical everyday features rather than paying extra for advanced flagship technologies.
EarFun Free 2S Features
7mm Dynamic Drivers for Bass-Focused Sound
The EarFun Free 2S uses 7mm composite dynamic drivers designed to deliver powerful bass while keeping the mids and treble detailed. This makes the earbuds suitable for listeners who enjoy a stronger low-end presence in their music.
The tuning is not limited to bass, though. The driver is designed to provide a more complete sound across different frequencies, so vocals, instruments and higher-frequency details remain part of the listening experience.
The Free 2S was also highlighted by Wirecutter as a budget wireless earbuds pick, which reflects its focus on delivering useful audio performance at a relatively low price.
Four Microphones for Calls
EarFun has equipped each pair with four built-in microphones for hands-free calling. The microphone system is designed to focus on the user’s voice while reducing unwanted background noise.
This can be useful when taking calls outside or in other moderately noisy environments. While budget earbuds should not be expected to completely eliminate surrounding sounds, having four microphones gives the Free 2S a solid setup for everyday voice calls.

EarFun App and Custom EQ
One of the more useful features is compatibility with the EarFun App. Instead of being limited to the sound profile provided out of the box, users can adjust the listening experience through the app.
The app provides multiple EQ adjustments, allowing you to change the sound according to your preference. Someone who wants more bass can emphasize the lower frequencies, while listeners who prefer a more balanced presentation can adjust the profile accordingly.
The app also provides battery information and lets you customize the touch controls. This gives the Free 2S more flexibility than many inexpensive wireless earbuds.
Game Mode
The EarFun App also includes a game mode designed to reduce latency.
Lower latency can help make the connection between on-screen action and audio feel more immediate. This is useful for mobile gaming and watching videos, although serious competitive gamers may still prefer a dedicated gaming headset or wired solution.
Up to 30 Hours of Battery Life
Battery life is another strong point. The earbuds provide up to 7 hours of playback on a single charge, while the charging case increases total listening time to up to 30 hours.
There is also a quick-charge feature. A 10-minute charge can provide around 2 hours of listening time, which is useful when you discover that the earbuds are nearly empty shortly before heading out.
The case also supports wireless charging, giving users another convenient way to recharge without connecting a cable every time.
IPX7 Waterproof Protection
The EarFun Free 2S carries an IPX7 waterproof rating. This makes the earbuds better suited to situations involving rain or sweat than earbuds with little or no water resistance.
For workouts and outdoor use, this added protection is reassuring. However, water resistance does not mean the earbuds should be treated as completely maintenance-free, and the charging case should still be kept away from water.
Ergonomic and Lightweight Design
Comfort is an important part of any in-ear earbuds experience. The Free 2S uses an ergonomic design intended to sit comfortably in the ears for longer listening sessions.
Its lightweight construction helps keep the earbuds from feeling unnecessarily heavy. For users who listen to music, podcasts or videos throughout the day, this can make a noticeable difference.

EarFun Free 2S Price in the US
The EarFun Free 2S is priced at $32.98 in the US and is available through Amazon.
At this price, it competes in a crowded budget-earbuds market. Its combination of a customizable EQ, four microphones, IPX7 protection, wireless charging and 30-hour total battery life gives it a fairly broad feature set for an affordable pair of earbuds.
EarFun Free 2S Review
The EarFun Free 2S is clearly designed around value. Rather than concentrating on one standout premium feature, it brings together several useful features that make sense for everyday use.
The first thing that stands out is the sound. The 7mm composite dynamic drivers are designed with powerful bass in mind, making the Free 2S a natural fit for bass-heavy music. At the same time, the drivers are intended to maintain detail in the mids and treble, so the overall presentation does not have to feel completely dominated by low frequencies.
The EarFun App adds another layer of flexibility. Having access to EQ adjustments means users are not stuck with a single factory tuning. This is particularly useful because sound preference varies considerably from person to person.
The app’s customizable touch controls are also practical. Being able to change how the earbuds respond to taps can make everyday operation more convenient, especially for users who frequently switch between music playback, calls and other functions.
Call quality is another area where the Free 2S offers more than its price might suggest. The four-microphone system is designed to capture the user’s voice and reduce unwanted background noise. It should be suitable for normal phone calls and voice conversations, particularly when compared with basic budget earbuds that use a simpler microphone arrangement.
Battery performance is equally practical. Seven hours of playback from the earbuds themselves is enough for a substantial listening session, while the case extends total playback to 30 hours. The 10-minute quick-charge feature is particularly useful when you need some additional listening time quickly.
Wireless charging is another welcome addition. It eliminates the need to connect a cable every time you want to recharge the case, assuming you already have a compatible wireless charging pad.
The IPX7 rating also gives the Free 2S an advantage for active users. Rain and sweat are less of a concern than they would be with earbuds lacking meaningful water protection. Combined with the lightweight ergonomic design, the earbuds are well suited to everyday portable use.
There are, however, some compromises. The Free 2S is an affordable model, so it does not offer the same collection of premium features found on more expensive earbuds, such as advanced adaptive ANC or high-end spatial audio systems. Users who specifically want strong noise isolation should look at models with active noise cancellation.
Still, the Free 2S’s strengths are easy to understand: good bass-oriented sound, useful customization, decent call functionality, strong water protection and convenient charging.

Should You Buy EarFun Free 2S?
The EarFun Free 2S makes sense if your priority is getting a lot of useful features without moving into a higher price range.
It is particularly appealing for listeners who enjoy strong bass and want the ability to customize their sound through an app. The four-microphone setup, IPX7 protection, wireless charging and 30-hour total battery life also make it a practical choice for everyday use.
On the other hand, users looking specifically for active noise cancellation, premium spatial audio or more advanced wireless audio features may need to consider a more expensive model.
At $32.98, the Free 2S is positioned as a straightforward budget option rather than a premium all-in-one pair of earbuds.
Final Verdict
The EarFun Free 2S focuses on the features that matter most to many everyday earbud users: enjoyable bass-focused sound, comfortable construction, reliable battery life, clear calling, water protection and useful customization.
The EarFun App makes the experience more flexible with EQ controls, customizable touch functions and game mode, while wireless charging and quick charging add everyday convenience.
Its lack of active noise cancellation is the main limitation for buyers who want stronger isolation. But for users who simply want affordable wireless earbuds with a good feature set, the Free 2S offers a well-rounded package at $32.98 in the US.
