TCL P80 5G Specifications
Large 6.83-Inch AMOLED Display
One of the biggest highlights of the TCL P80 5G is its 6.83-inch AMOLED display. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, making scrolling, animations and compatible games feel smoother than on conventional 60Hz screens.
The display has a resolution of 1280 × 2772 pixels, resulting in around 447 pixels per inch. It also supports HDR and 1 billion colors, which should help deliver richer colors and better contrast when watching videos or viewing photos.
TCL lists a peak brightness of up to 3,200 nits, which is particularly impressive on paper. This should make the screen easier to see outdoors under bright lighting.
The phone has relatively slim dimensions for such a large-screen device, measuring 163.3 × 77.7 × 8.3mm and weighing 178 grams.
Dimensity 7300 Elite Powers the Phone
The TCL P80 5G gets its performance from the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Elite, manufactured using a 4nm process.
The octa-core processor combines four Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.5GHz with four Cortex-A55 cores running at up to 2.0GHz. Graphics are handled by the Mali-G615 MC2 GPU.
For everyday tasks such as social media, web browsing, streaming, messaging and multitasking, this hardware should offer plenty of performance. The 120Hz display also makes the overall interface feel more responsive.
The phone comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. However, there is no microSD card slot, so buyers will need to rely on the built-in storage.
50MP Main Camera with OIS
Photography is another area where TCL has given the P80 5G some useful hardware.
The rear camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor with an f/1.9 aperture, PDAF and optical image stabilization (OIS). OIS can help reduce camera shake, particularly when taking photos in low-light conditions or recording handheld video.
The primary camera is joined by an 8MP ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view. This is useful for landscapes, architecture and group photographs where fitting more of the scene into one frame is important.
The rear camera system supports HDR and panorama modes, while video recording goes up to 4K at 30fps.
On the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. It can record video at 1080p at 30fps and also supports HDR.

Android 16 Software
The TCL P80 5G arrives with Android 16, giving buyers access to the latest generation of Google’s Android platform at launch.
TCL is also promising up to three major OS updates, which is an important consideration for people planning to keep the phone for several years.
The combination of Android 16, 8GB of RAM and the Dimensity 7300 Elite should provide a modern software experience with enough hardware headroom for regular multitasking.
5,000mAh Battery with 45W Charging
The smartphone packs a 5,000mAh battery, which should comfortably cover a full day for many users depending on their usage.
Charging is supported at 45W wired, giving the P80 5G a reasonably fast charging solution for its segment. It uses a USB Type-C 2.0 port with OTG support.
The phone also features stereo speakers, making it better suited to watching videos and listening to music than devices with a single bottom-firing speaker.
There is no 3.5mm headphone jack, so wired headphones will need to connect through USB-C or an appropriate adapter.
Built for More Than Everyday Use
TCL has equipped the P80 5G with IP68 dust and water resistance. The rating means the device is designed to withstand dust ingress and immersion in water under specified test conditions, with TCL listing immersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.
The phone is also MIL-STD-810H compliant. However, this should not be interpreted as making the smartphone indestructible. TCL specifically notes that the compliance does not guarantee ruggedness or suitability for extreme conditions.
A side-mounted fingerprint scanner provides biometric security, while the phone also includes an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor and compass.
Connectivity and Other Features
The TCL P80 5G supports a broad range of connectivity options, including 5G, GSM, HSPA and LTE networks.
Wireless connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi 6 support and Bluetooth 5.4. Navigation systems include GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BDS.
NFC is also included, although availability can depend on the market or region.
The smartphone uses a dual Nano-SIM setup, giving users the option to operate two physical SIM cards.
TCL P80 5G Price and Availability
The TCL P80 5G was announced on September 3, 2026, and is listed as coming soon, with an expected release in September 2026.
In the US, the phone is expected to start at approximately $349. Actual pricing and availability may vary depending on the configuration, retailer and market.
TCL is offering the phone in Sunlit Gold and Midnight Blue color options.
Should You Buy the TCL P80 5G?
The TCL P80 5G is shaping up to be an interesting option in the $350 range. Its strongest points are the large 120Hz AMOLED display, Dimensity 7300 Elite processor, 50MP OIS camera, stereo speakers and IP68 protection.
The 5,000mAh battery and 45W charging also provide a solid combination for everyday use.
There are a few compromises, including the lack of expandable storage, the USB 2.0 connection and the absence of a headphone jack. Still, these may not be deal-breakers for most users.
Final Verdict
The TCL P80 5G brings several features that are usually high on the priority list for mid-range smartphone buyers. Its 6.83-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen is the standout feature, while the Dimensity 7300 Elite, 8GB RAM and 256GB storage give it a strong foundation for everyday performance.
The 50MP OIS camera, 5,000mAh battery, 45W charging and IP68 protection add even more value to the package. At an expected starting price of $349 in the US, the TCL P80 5G could be a compelling choice for users looking for a large-screen 5G phone with a premium-looking specification sheet without paying flagship prices.
