ASUS has officially refreshed its premium dual-screen laptop lineup at CES 2026 with the launch of the new Zenbook Duo. The 2026 edition builds on the strengths of its predecessor while introducing meaningful upgrades across display technology, performance, and AI capabilities. With brighter twin OLED panels and Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 3 processors, the new Zenbook Duo is clearly aimed at power users, creators, and professionals who want a more flexible and immersive workspace.
The standout feature of the 2026 ASUS Zenbook Duo (UX8407) remains its dual-screen design. ASUS has equipped the laptop with two 14-inch ASUS Lumina Pro OLED touch displays, each offering a sharp 3K resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels. Both panels now reach up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness, making them more usable in bright environments and delivering richer HDR visuals.
ASUS has also refined the physical design, significantly reducing the gap between the two screens. This creates a more continuous visual canvas, which is especially useful for multitasking, content editing, and extended workflows. The displays support a variable refresh rate ranging from 48Hz to 144Hz and come with Dolby Vision, ensuring smooth motion and accurate color reproduction.
To make the most of the dual-display layout, ASUS has further improved its ScreenXpert software. When the Zenbook Duo is laid flat, the system automatically enables cross-screen sharing and annotation tools. This allows users to drag windows seamlessly between screens, mirror content, or extend applications across both panels.
For creatives, this means one screen can be used for a canvas while the other holds tools and timelines. For professionals, it enables efficient document comparison, note-taking, and presentation workflows without relying on external monitors.
Under the hood, the 2026 Zenbook Duo is powered by up to an Intel Core Ultra X9 Series 3 processor. These next-generation chips bring notable performance gains alongside improved efficiency. Paired with Intel Arc graphics, the laptop is well-suited for demanding tasks such as photo editing, video rendering, and light 3D workloads.
A key highlight is the inclusion of a new NPU capable of delivering up to 50 TOPS of AI performance. This AI acceleration enables faster on-device processing for tasks like background noise reduction, image enhancement, and future AI-driven productivity features, positioning the Zenbook Duo as a forward-looking machine.
Powering the dual-screen setup is a large 99Wh battery made up of dual battery cells. This is designed to provide extended usage despite the presence of two high-resolution OLED displays.
In terms of memory and storage, ASUS offers configurations with up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage options that go up to a 2TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. This ensures quick boot times, fast file transfers, and smooth multitasking even under heavy workloads.
The 2026 Zenbook Duo features a premium chassis built using ASUS’s Ceraluminum material, which combines durability with a lightweight feel. Audio is handled by a six-speaker setup tuned with Dolby Atmos, delivering an immersive sound experience suitable for both entertainment and professional use.
Connectivity options are equally robust, including WiFi 7 for faster wireless speeds, Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.1, Bluetooth 5.4, and other essential I/O for modern workflows.
ASUS has confirmed that the top-end Zenbook Duo configuration with 2TB of storage will be priced at £2,499 in the UK. In European markets, the pricing is expected to be around €2,600. While global availability details are still emerging, the laptop is positioned firmly in the premium segment.
With the 2026 Zenbook Duo, ASUS has refined an already bold concept into a more polished and powerful productivity machine. Brighter twin OLED displays, a more seamless dual-screen design, and next-generation Intel processors with strong AI capabilities make it a compelling option for users who thrive on multitasking. While its premium pricing puts it out of reach for casual buyers, the Zenbook Duo continues to stand out as one of the most innovative laptops unveiled at CES 2026.
