OpenAI has officially rolled out a new subscription plan called ChatGPT Go in India, offering users broader access to its advanced AI features at an affordable price point. Priced at Rs 399 per month, the plan is positioned between the free tier and the higher-priced ChatGPT Plus, aiming to make powerful AI tools more accessible to a wider audience.
The ChatGPT Go plan brings a range of features designed for both casual and professional users. Subscribers will get extended access to GPT-5, which means more prompts per day compared to the free version. The plan also introduces longer memory support, ensuring that conversations feel more continuous and personalized over time.
Beyond chat enhancements, users can take advantage of expanded image generation capabilities, along with the option to upload more files such as documents, spreadsheets, and PDFs. For those working with data, Go subscribers also get more frequent access to advanced data analysis tools like Python, making it easier to process, interpret, and visualize information directly within ChatGPT.
The subscription additionally includes support for projects, tasks, and custom GPTs, giving users a structured way to organize workflows, collaborate, and streamline productivity.
On the privacy front, OpenAI has assured that users can opt out of training data collection at any time. The ChatGPT Go subscription also applies to WhatsApp access via 1-800-ChatGPT, offering a more seamless way to interact with the AI across platforms.
Currently, the ChatGPT Go subscription is priced at Rs 399 per month in India, with payments handled on a monthly basis. Supported payment options include credit cards and UPI, ensuring flexibility for users across the country. At this stage, there is no annual subscription plan available.
While the Go plan offers significant upgrades over the free version, it does not include certain premium features bundled with ChatGPT Plus, such as access to legacy models like 4o, connectors for third-party apps, or the Sora video generation tool. However, considering the price difference—ChatGPT Plus costs Rs 1,999 per month—ChatGPT Go is designed as a budget-friendly alternative for those who want advanced features without a steep price tag.
Users can cancel their subscription anytime through the app’s settings. Refunds are also supported in cases of incorrect billing.
With the launch of ChatGPT Go in India, OpenAI is making its AI tools more affordable and accessible to a much larger user base. At just Rs 399 per month, the plan strikes a balance between cost and features, offering a practical middle ground for students, professionals, and everyday users who want more than the free tier without paying for the full Plus plan.
