Nothing made waves earlier this year with its first over-ear headphones, and now its sub-brand CMF is entering the segment with the all-new CMF Headphone Pro. Staying true to CMF’s philosophy of design simplicity and customization, the new headphones offer a traditional, rounded aesthetic, plenty of personalization options, and a highly competitive price tag—making them one of the most attractive headphone launches in recent months.
While Nothing’s flagship headphones leaned on bold, transparent designs, CMF has taken a more conventional approach with the Headphone Pro. The headphones feature a clean, rounded build available in Light Green, Light Gray, and Dark Gray. What sets them apart, however, is their customizable appeal—you can swap out the ear cushions with additional color options, including CMF’s signature Orange, for a more personalized look.
The Hybrid Adaptive ANC system claims to reduce external noise by up to 99%. Unlike standard ANC, the adaptive mode automatically adjusts between strong, moderate, and light cancellation depending on your environment. A full transparency mode is also available, making it easy to stay aware of surroundings when needed.
CMF is pushing immersion with its Static Spatial Audio. Users can choose between Cinema Mode and Concert Mode, each designed to adjust width, depth, and clarity to replicate theater-like or live-music experiences.
Unlike many headphones that rely solely on touch controls, the CMF Headphone Pro uses hardware controls for a more tactile and reliable experience. A multi-function roller lets you adjust volume and playback easily—roll for volume, press to play/pause, or long-press to toggle ANC modes.
Another innovative addition is the Energy Slider, which lets you adjust bass or treble on the fly (configurable through the Nothing X app). This feature allows for instant audio tuning without pulling out your phone.
On top of that, a quick-access button can be customized for multiple functions, such as enabling Spatial Audio, starting a voice note (which syncs with Essential Space on CMF/Nothing phones), or even summoning ChatGPT.
Under the hood, the CMF Headphone Pro are powered by 40mm drivers with 16.5mm copper voice coils. They support LDAC high-resolution audio and are officially Hi-Res Audio Wireless Certified.
CMF has also partnered with Audiodo to deliver a Personal Sound Profile feature. A simple three-minute test calibrates audio settings to your ears, and since the profile is stored directly on the headphones, it works seamlessly across devices—including PCs.
Battery life is another strong selling point. With Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) off, the CMF Headphone Pro can last up to a staggering 100 hours on a single charge. Even with ANC enabled, they deliver 50 hours of playback, outpacing many premium competitors. For perspective, Nothing’s flagship headphones offer around 80/35 hours depending on ANC usage.
One of the standout aspects of the CMF Headphone Pro is affordability. Launching at just €100 / £80 / $100, they cost only a third of the Nothing Headphone 1, which debuted at €300 / £300 / $300. Additional ear cushions are available for €25 / £20 / $25. The CMF Headphone Pro are already available in Europe, with US sales starting on October 7.
The CMF Headphone Pro strike a remarkable balance between design, affordability, and features. With long-lasting battery life, powerful ANC, immersive spatial modes, and customizable controls, they have the potential to shake up the budget premium headphone market. Add in CMF’s focus on personalization, and these headphones feel like an ideal option for users who want both functionality and individuality without breaking the bank.
