Google has officially introduced its latest flagship lineup at the Made by Google event in Brooklyn on August 20, unveiling the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the highly anticipated Pixel 10 Pro Fold, alongside the Pixel Watch 4 series. The foldable smartphone is positioned to take on Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, offering meaningful upgrades in design, durability, and AI-driven features.
The Pixel 10 Pro Fold debuts a newly engineered gearless hinge, which Google claims is twice as durable as its predecessor. It also becomes the first foldable smartphone to carry an IP68 rating, ensuring protection against dust and water—an industry-first for foldables. The body is crafted from aerospace-grade aluminum, giving it both strength and a premium feel. Buyers will get two elegant color options: Moonstone and Jade.
On the front, the device features a 6.4-inch cover screen, while unfolding it reveals a stunning 8-inch Super Actua Flex OLED inner display. Both panels push brightness up to 3,000 nits, making them some of the brightest displays on any foldable phone. Reinforced glass layers further enhance durability, ensuring the screen can withstand everyday use without compromising quality.
Powering the foldable is Google’s next-gen Tensor G5 chipset, backed by the Titan M2 security chip for advanced on-device protection. This combination not only boosts raw performance but also enables deeper integration of AI features such as Gemini Live, Magic Cue, and Daily Hub, making the device smarter and more efficient in handling user needs.
Battery life sees a notable upgrade with a 5,015mAh cell, an improvement over last year’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Google promises over 30 hours of usage on a single charge. The device supports 30W fast charging, while also introducing Qi2 wireless charging compatibility. Additionally, the new Pixelsnap accessories enhance the wireless charging experience.
The camera setup includes a 48MP primary sensor with Macro Focus, a 10.8MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and 20x Super Res Zoom, and a 10.5MP ultrawide sensor. On the selfie side, users get two 10MP front-facing cameras—one on the cover screen and another embedded in the inner display’s punch-hole. While not as groundbreaking as its design or AI features, this system still delivers Google’s signature computational photography experience.
Running on Android 16, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold comes with Google’s promise of seven years of software support. Pre-orders are already live, and official sales begin on October 9. The 256GB variant is priced at ₹1,72,999, while 512GB and 1TB storage options are expected soon, though their pricing is yet to be revealed.
