Huawei's recent announcement introduces the nova 12 Ultra and nova 12 Pro, featuring pioneering physical variable aperture cameras and satellite connectivity. Alongside these premium offerings, the Chinese brand unveiled the nova 12 and nova 12 Lite, catering to a more budget-conscious audience.
The Huawei nova 12 boasts a spacious 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED display, flaunting a resolution of 2,412 x 1,084 pixels. Positioned underneath this display is a fingerprint reader for seamless biometric authentication. The device showcases a centered punch-hole design accommodating a 60MP ultrawide selfie camera with a wide 100-degree field of view. Notably, the display supports 1 billion colors and incorporates a P3 wide color gamut for vibrant visuals.
Turning to its rear, the nova 12 presents an elliptical camera module housing an LED flash, a laser focus sensor, a 50MP primary camera equipped with an RYYB color filter array, and an 8MP ultrawide camera boasting a 112-degree field of view.
Running on HarmonyOS 4 out of the box, the nova 12 offers ample storage options of 256GB and 512GB. While Huawei has yet to officially disclose the processor, reports indicate it to be powered by the Kirin 830 SoC.
Highlighting its capabilities, the nova 12 includes a robust 4,600mAh battery supporting rapid 100W charging via USB-C, alongside NFC functionality. Huawei emphasizes its "bionic breathing liquid-cooling pulsating heat conduction" feature, purportedly enhancing heat dissipation by 60 times.
In contrast, the nova 12 Lite, a slimmer variant, features the Snapdragon 778G processor and a 50MP primary camera sans the RYYB color filter array. Notably, it sports a different back panel design, along with a thinner profile, reduced weight, a smaller 4,500mAh battery, and comparatively slower 66W charging.
Both the nova 12 and nova 12 Lite offer identical color choices and storage variants. Pricing for the nova 12's 256GB and 512GB models stands at CNY2,999 and CNY3,399, respectively. Meanwhile, the nova 12 Lite's 256GB and 512GB variants are priced at CNY2,499 and CNY2,799.
