Instax Pal Now Available In Malaysia; Starts From RM488

The Instax Pal, initially introduced in the US and other markets in September, has now made its debut in Malaysia. This new product, lacking a built-in printer, is specially designed to collaborate with Fujifilm's sub-brand's portable printers, including the Mini Link, Square Link, and Link Wide, through wireless connectivity.

To provide an overview, the Instax Pal retains the brand's distinctive playful, rounded design and compact dimensions, allowing it to be conveniently carried in pockets, purses, or bags. The camera features a shutter button on its top and a USB-C port on the back. Positioned on the front are a speaker and flash unit above its fixed lens, while a concealed microSD card slot is located on the left side. Regrettably, the Instax Pal does not include an LCD screen or a selfie mirror. However, it is accompanied by a versatile ring accessory that serves as a finger strap, stand, or even a makeshift viewfinder when attached on top.

The camera is equipped with a 1/5-inch CMOS sensor, enabling it to capture photos at a resolution of 2560 x 1920. However, it does not support video recording. It offers an ISO range from 100 to 1600, features an f2.2 aperture with a 35mm equivalent focal length, and includes functions for auto white balance and exposure adjustment. Additionally, it boasts a shutter speed ranging from 1/4 second to 1/8000 second. The camera possesses an internal memory capacity capable of storing up to 50 photos, with the option to expand storage via a microSD card.

Fujifilm has not disclosed the specific duration of the Instax Pal's battery life on a single charge. However, it's worth noting that a complete recharge of the device requires approximately three hours through its USB-C port. It is essential to clarify that the onboard USB connection is intended exclusively for charging, with data transfer relying on the integrated Bluetooth functionality. Nevertheless, users have the option to view and access images captured with the camera on their smartphone via the Instax companion app. This app establishes a connection with Fujifilm's Link printer series, facilitating the printing process.

The recently launched Instax Pal is currently accessible for purchase through Fujifilm Malaysia's official webstore and authorized nationwide distributors, available in both online and physical retail locations. It is available in four color variants, namely Milky White, Lavender Blue, Pistachio Green, and Powder Pink, all priced at RM488. The Gem Black variant is offered at a slightly higher cost of RM588.
