iQOO is steadily revealing key details about its upcoming smartphone, the iQOO 15R, ahead of its India launch scheduled for February 24. Priced under INR 50,000, the device is positioned to deliver flagship-level performance at a competitive price point. The company has already confirmed the processor, software, and color options, and now it has shared important information related to battery capacity and long-term software support.
According to information listed on iQOO’s official Indian promo page, the iQOO 15R will be equipped with a large 7,600mAh battery. This detail was revealed through footnotes on the page, giving users a clearer picture of the phone’s endurance. With this battery size, the iQOO 15R is expected to comfortably handle extended gaming sessions, media consumption, and daily multitasking without frequent recharging.
The device is also expected to support 100W fast charging, allowing users to quickly top up the battery despite its large capacity. This combination of a big battery and fast charging is likely to be one of the strongest selling points of the iQOO 15R.
iQOO has also confirmed its software update policy for the 15R, which is impressive for its price segment. The smartphone will receive up to four years of Android OS updates and up to six years of security updates. This ensures that users will continue to get new features, performance improvements, and security patches well into the future.
Out of the box, the iQOO 15R will run OriginOS 6, offering a refined user interface with optimizations aimed at performance and smooth animations.
Under the hood, the iQOO 15R will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, placing it firmly in the flagship performance category. In addition to the main processor, the phone will include the Q2 Supercomputing Chip, which enables advanced gaming features.
One of the highlights is 144FPS gameplay support in BGMI through frame interpolation technology. This setup is designed to deliver smoother visuals and a more responsive gaming experience, especially for competitive players.
The iQOO 15R is rumored to be a rebranded version of the iQOO Z11 Turbo currently available in China. If this is accurate, users can expect up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. The phone may feature a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 1,260p resolution.
Camera hardware is also expected to be strong, with a 200MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide camera on the rear, while the front could house a 32MP selfie camera. Additional features may include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner and IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
With a confirmed 7,600mAh battery, fast charging support, and a generous software update policy, the iQOO 15R is shaping up to be a compelling option in the under INR 50,000 segment. Combined with flagship-grade performance, advanced gaming features, and solid camera expectations, the device looks well-prepared to attract power users and mobile gamers when it launches in India on February 24.
