Indian smartphone maker Lava is all set to launch its next budget 5G phone—the Lava Blaze Dragon 5G—on July 25. The upcoming smartphone will be part of the company’s affordable Blaze lineup and follows the recent release of the Storm series. With key specifications now revealed on Amazon India, the Blaze Dragon 5G is shaping up to be a strong contender in the sub-₹10,000 segment, combining 5G connectivity, Snapdragon power, and Android 15 out of the box.
The Lava Blaze Dragon 5G will feature a large 6.745-inch HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 1612 × 720 pixels. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smoother scrolling and responsive interactions—an impressive feature at this price point. The display also boasts 450+ nits peak brightness, making it usable even under bright daylight conditions.
At its core, the Blaze Dragon 5G is equipped with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, built on a 4nm process. The CPU features two high-performance Kryo A78 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six power-efficient Kryo A55 cores at 2.0GHz, delivering a balance of performance and battery efficiency. The Adreno 613 GPU takes care of graphics, making the device capable of handling casual gaming and multitasking.
On the software side, the phone ships with Android 15, giving users access to the latest Android features and improved system performance. This also positions it as one of the first phones in its segment to run the latest Android version out-of-the-box.
The Blaze Dragon 5G sports a 50MP rear camera accompanied by an LED flash, aimed at delivering crisp and detailed images in daylight conditions. The company hasn't revealed details about the front camera yet. However, for audiophiles and traditional users, it includes a 3.5mm headphone jack and FM radio support, catering to a broad audience.
For biometric security, the phone features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, ensuring quick and secure access. It comes with 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 internal storage, offering both speed and capacity. There’s also a microSD card slot for expanding storage as needed.
Connectivity is another strong point, with support for 5G across most major bands, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz & 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, GLONASS, and a USB Type-C port for data transfer and charging.
Powering the Lava Blaze Dragon 5G is a 5000mAh battery, which should offer more than a full day of usage on moderate use. The device supports 18W fast charging, ensuring minimal downtime.
The Lava Blaze Dragon 5G will be available in two stylish color options—Golden Mist and Midnight Mist. It will go on sale via Amazon.in and is confirmed to be priced under ₹10,000, making it one of the most affordable Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 smartphones in the Indian market.
