Motorola continues to strengthen its budget smartphone lineup with the official launch of the Moto G56 5G. Aimed at users who seek performance, durability, and camera quality without stretching their budget, the Moto G56 5G offers impressive hardware and software features for its price point of £199.99 in the UK.
At the core of the Moto G56 5G is MediaTek’s Dimensity 7060 chipset, a reliable processor that ensures smooth multitasking and responsive performance for daily tasks. Paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, this phone gives users enough power and space for everything from apps to media files. Storage can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD card, offering excellent flexibility for content-heavy users.
The phone runs on Android 15, giving it access to the latest security updates and features, with Motorola’s light customizations for enhanced usability.
The Moto G56 5G features a 6.72-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smoother scrolling, video playback, and gaming. While it doesn't sport an AMOLED panel, the Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection makes it durable enough for daily use. The display also boasts an 87% screen-to-body ratio, providing an immersive viewing experience with minimal bezels.
On the camera front, Motorola equips the G56 5G with a 50MP primary camera powered by Sony’s LYTIA 600 sensor, featuring Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and Quad Pixel Technology. This allows for detailed shots even in challenging lighting.
Complementing the main sensor is an 8MP ultra-wide lens for capturing broader scenes, and on the front, a high-resolution 32MP selfie camera handles portraits and video calls. Users also benefit from smart features like Auto Night Vision, Portrait Mode, Pro Mode, and up to 8x digital zoom, enhanced by Motorola’s onboard AI optimization tools.
One of the highlights is the 5,200mAh battery, which supports 30W fast charging, delivering all-day usage with minimal downtime. Despite the large battery, the phone weighs a manageable 200g.
The device also features Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, providing a rich and immersive audio experience. The inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack is a welcome feature for those who prefer wired audio.
Durability is another strong point. With IP68 and IP69 ratings, the Moto G56 5G is both dust-tight and water-resistant, offering peace of mind in tough conditions.
The Moto G56 5G is available in the UK for £199.99 and €250 in Europe, featuring a single variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Motorola has yet to confirm availability for other regions.
