Lenovo’s Motorola brand is preparing to unveil its latest smartphone, the Moto X70 Air, by the end of October in China. The company has already shared its first official teaser, confirming that the upcoming device will focus on an AI-driven experience paired with an ultra-thin and lightweight design. With competition heating up in the slim smartphone category, Motorola seems ready to make a strong statement with the X70 Air.
The teaser poster highlights the phone’s sleek silhouette, showcasing a right-edge profile that includes the power and volume buttons. While Motorola has not revealed complete specifications yet, the visuals suggest a minimalist design with a likely dual-camera setup on the rear. The focus on ultra-thin build directly positions the device against Apple’s recently launched iPhone 17 Air, which measures just 5.6mm in thickness and weighs around 165 grams.
Although the exact thickness and weight of the Moto X70 Air remain undisclosed, early hints confirm that Motorola is targeting a similarly lightweight and slim aesthetic, designed for users who prioritize both portability and modern styling.
Interestingly, a Motorola device with the model number XT2533-4 recently appeared on TENAA certification in China. This handset revealed specifications including a 6.72-inch 1.5K LCD display, a 2.4GHz processor, up to 16GB RAM, and 512GB of storage. It also packs a massive 7,000mAh battery, alongside a 32MP front camera and a 50MP + 8MP dual rear camera setup.
However, with a thickness of 8.7mm and a weight of 210 grams, this model does not match the slim profile teased by Motorola for the X70 Air. Reports suggest that this certified device could actually belong to the upcoming Moto G36 5G, rather than the Moto X70 Air.
Motorola’s teaser comes at a crucial time when the smartphone industry is seeing a renewed focus on ultra-thin, lightweight devices. Apple’s iPhone 17 Air has already set a new benchmark, but Motorola aims to offer a strong alternative that blends a stylish slim form factor with its signature near-stock Android experience.
By focusing on AI features along with design, the Moto X70 Air could carve its niche among users who value both aesthetics and functionality. While the specifications are still under wraps, anticipation is building ahead of the official launch event later this October.
The Moto X70 Air is shaping up to be one of Motorola’s most stylish offerings in recent years, catering to users who want a sleek smartphone without compromising on modern features. With the official launch just weeks away, all eyes will be on Motorola to see whether it can deliver a compelling rival to the likes of the iPhone 17 Air.
