Alongside the global launch of the OnePlus 15R, OnePlus has quietly expanded its wearable lineup with the introduction of the OnePlus Watch Lite. As the name suggests, this new smartwatch is positioned as a more affordable alternative in the OnePlus ecosystem, targeting users who want essential smart features, a premium-looking design, and strong battery life without the higher price tag of flagship wearables.
Despite its budget positioning, the OnePlus Watch Lite brings several notable upgrades, including a very bright AMOLED display, stainless steel construction, and a health-focused feature set.
The OnePlus Watch Lite features a 44mm circular dial housed in a 316L stainless steel frame, giving it a solid and premium feel that is uncommon in this price segment. The smartwatch measures just 8.9mm in thickness, making it slim enough for comfortable all-day wear, while the overall weight of around 59 grams ensures it doesn’t feel bulky on the wrist.
Users can choose between black or white fluororubber straps, both paired with a stainless steel buckle. The strap material is designed to be skin-friendly and durable, suitable for workouts as well as daily use. With an IP68 rating, the watch is protected against dust and water, adding peace of mind for outdoor activities and workouts.
One of the biggest highlights of the OnePlus Watch Lite is its display. It comes with a 1.46-inch circular AMOLED screen featuring a 464 x 464 pixel resolution, delivering sharp visuals and crisp text. The screen is protected by sapphire crystal glass, which improves scratch resistance and durability.
What truly sets it apart is its peak brightness of up to 3000 nits, making it easily readable even under direct sunlight. This level of brightness is impressive for a budget smartwatch and enhances usability in outdoor conditions.
Instead of Google’s Wear OS, the OnePlus Watch Lite runs on OxygenOS Watch 7.1, a proprietary operating system designed to be lightweight and power-efficient. While it doesn’t support third-party Wear OS apps, the software focuses on stability, smooth performance, and extended battery life.
The smartwatch is compatible with Android smartphones as well as iPhones running iOS 14 or higher. A notable addition is the dual sync feature, which allows the watch to stay connected to two devices at the same time, a feature that can be especially useful for users who switch between work and personal phones.
The OnePlus Watch Lite includes a comprehensive set of health and wellness tools. It supports heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen (SpO₂) tracking, skin temperature mapping, stress level tracking, and sleep monitoring, covering most day-to-day health needs.
For fitness enthusiasts, the smartwatch offers support for over 100 sports modes, allowing users to track a wide variety of activities. The inclusion of fall detection further adds to its safety-focused features, making it suitable for a broad range of users.
Battery performance is another strong point of the OnePlus Watch Lite. On a single full charge, the smartwatch can last up to 10 days, depending on usage. This is largely thanks to the lightweight operating system and efficient hardware.
Fast charging support ensures that even short charging sessions can provide enough power for extended use, reducing downtime and making the watch more convenient for daily wear.
The OnePlus Watch Lite has been announced in Europe and the UK, where it is priced at €159 and £159, respectively. As of now, OnePlus has not revealed pricing or availability details for other regions, including India and the United States. More information is expected in the coming weeks.
The OnePlus Watch Lite strikes a strong balance between affordability and functionality. With its extremely bright AMOLED display, stainless steel build, solid health tracking features, and up to 10-day battery life, it positions itself as an appealing option for users who want a reliable smartwatch without spending too much. While the absence of Wear OS may limit app options, the focus on performance, battery efficiency, and essential features makes the Watch Lite a practical choice in the budget smartwatch segment.
