Realme has officially expanded its smartphone lineup in Vietnam with the launch of the Realme 16 5G and Realme 16 Pro 5G on January 29, 2026. While the Pro variant already made its debut in India earlier with the same specifications, the standard Realme 16 5G is a fresh arrival for the Vietnamese market. With this launch, Realme is clearly focusing on long battery life, eye-catching design, and flagship-level durability at competitive prices.
Both smartphones share a common philosophy but cater to slightly different users, with the Pro model offering higher performance and camera capabilities, while the standard model balances features and value.

Realme 16 5G
The Realme 16 5G introduces what the brand calls an Air Design body. It features a flat frame with softly curved corners, making it comfortable to hold despite its large battery. The phone measures 158.30 × 75.13 × 8.10mm and weighs 183g, which is impressive considering the battery size. The back panel sports an Aurora Wings finish that shifts between blue and purple shades depending on lighting, giving the device a premium look.
A flush-mounted horizontal camera bar houses a 50MP Sony IMX852 portrait camera and a 2MP monochrome sensor. Uniquely, the camera module also integrates a selfie mirror, with the LED flash placed around its outer edge for added style and utility.
On the front, the Realme 16 5G comes with a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display offering a resolution of 2372 × 1080 pixels. With a 93 percent screen-to-body ratio, the panel feels immersive and modern. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling, ensuring smooth scrolling and responsive interactions.
Brightness levels are another highlight, reaching 1000 nits in regular use, 1400 nits in high brightness mode, and peaking at an impressive 4200 nits. DT Star D+ glass protects the display from scratches and everyday wear.
Photography on the Realme 16 5G is handled by a capable 50MP front camera with an 86-degree field of view, making it suitable for detailed selfies and group shots. Realme includes features like LumaColor image processing and AI Edit Genie, allowing users to quickly enhance photos directly from the gallery without needing third-party apps.
Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset, paired with either 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Users can further expand storage via a memory card and also make use of USB OTG support. The phone runs on realme UI 7.0, offering a clean interface with useful customization options.
The standout feature of the Realme 16 5G is its massive 7000mAh typical battery, rated at 6830mAh. It supports 60W fast charging and wired reverse charging, turning the phone into a power bank when needed. Realme achieves this large capacity through an Aircraft Structure internal layout and a high-density graphite battery, all while keeping the phone slim.
Thermal management is handled by a 6050mm² vapor chamber, helping maintain stable performance. The phone also boasts IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, making it resistant to dust, water, and even high-pressure water jets.

Realme 16 Pro 5G
The Realme 16 Pro 5G steps things up with a larger 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display featuring a resolution of 1272 × 2772 pixels. It supports a smoother 144Hz refresh rate and up to 240Hz touch sampling. Brightness levels are extremely high, reaching 600 nits in normal use, 1400 nits in high brightness mode, and peaking at an eye-catching 6500 nits in localized scenarios. With a pixel density of 450 PPI and AGC DT Star D+ glass protection, the display is built for both clarity and durability.
At its core, the Realme 16 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max 5G chipset, featuring an octa-core CPU and Arm Mali G615 GPU. The phone comes with 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of faster UFS 3.1 storage. While there is no microSD card support, USB OTG functionality is available for external storage needs.
The Pro model is clearly aimed at photography enthusiasts. It features a 200MP main rear camera with optical image stabilization, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. On the front, there is a 50MP selfie camera. Video capabilities include 4K recording at 30fps, along with support for slow motion, HDR, time-lapse, and professional shooting modes.
Just like the standard model, the Realme 16 Pro 5G houses a 7000mAh battery with a rated capacity of 6830mAh. However, charging speeds are faster here, with support for 80W fast charging and wired reverse charging. Audio performance is enhanced with 300 percent Ultra Volume support.
The phone includes an in-display fingerprint scanner, face unlock, and a full set of sensors. Connectivity options cover dual Nano SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and USB Type-C with both digital and analog audio support. It measures 162.6 × 77.6 × 7.75mm, weighs 192g, and runs realme UI 7.0.
The Realme 16 5G is available in two variants. The 8GB RAM with 256GB storage model is priced at VND 11,490,000, while the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage version costs VND 12,490,000. Buyers can choose between White Swan and Black Cloud color options, and the phone is available through thegioididong.
The Realme 16 Pro 5G is priced at VND 14,490,000 in Vietnam. It comes in Purple Orchid and Gray Gravel color variants and is available via Giang Duong.
With the launch of the Realme 16 5G and Realme 16 Pro 5G, Realme is clearly doubling down on battery innovation without compromising on design, durability, or performance. The standard Realme 16 5G is ideal for users who want long-lasting battery life and a stylish phone at a competitive price, while the Pro model caters to those seeking higher performance, a more advanced camera system, and faster charging. Together, these two devices strengthen Realme’s position in the mid-range and upper mid-range smartphone segments in Vietnam.
