Realme has officially confirmed the launch date of its next premium lineup, the Realme 16 Pro series. The smartphones will debut globally on January 6, and the announcement comes with a strong focus on design, sustainability, and craftsmanship. Adding a creative edge to the launch, Realme has revealed that the 16 Pro series has been designed in collaboration with world-renowned industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa. Alongside the smartphones, the company will also unveil the Realme Buds Air8, which follows the same distinctive design philosophy.
After weeks of speculation, Realme has now confirmed that the Realme 16 Pro and Realme 16 Pro+ will go official on January 6. The brand is positioning this launch as more than just a hardware refresh, placing equal emphasis on material innovation and aesthetic refinement.
The launch event will also introduce the Realme Buds Air8, expanding the design narrative beyond smartphones into the brand’s audio ecosystem.
For the Realme 16 Pro series and Buds Air8, Realme has partnered with Naoto Fukasawa to explore what the company calls a “spiritual utopia” within modern urban life. This collaboration has resulted in a new design direction named Urban Wild Design.
According to the official description, Urban Wild Design merges nature’s raw spirit with contemporary urban aesthetics. The idea is to deliver a product that feels organic in texture while remaining refined in form. Realme describes the design as an invitation to find a sense of freedom within the constant motion of city life, blending calm natural elements with modern precision.
The Realme 16 Pro series will launch in two carefully crafted, nature-inspired color options.
Master Gold will be available on both the Realme 16 Pro and the Realme 16 Pro+. This finish draws inspiration from golden wheat fields, evoking warmth and a delicate texture that is meant to be both visually pleasing and tactilely engaging.
Master Grey, exclusive to the Realme 16 Pro+, takes inspiration from river-polished pebbles. It features a smooth surface with a soft glow, aiming to strike a balance between natural simplicity and premium refinement.
One of the most notable highlights of the Realme 16 Pro series is its use of bio-based organic silicone, an industry-first for smartphones. This innovative material is derived from plant-based straw and has been developed to combine sustainability, comfort, and long-term durability.
Realme states that this material offers a soft, skin-friendly texture with natural elasticity. It is also resistant to dirt, bacteria, and abrasion, making it practical for everyday use while reducing environmental impact.
Despite its premium materials, the Realme 16 Pro series maintains a slim profile at just 8.49mm thickness. The phones feature continuous flowing lines that extend smoothly from the back panel to the mid-frame and display. This seamless construction is designed to enhance both visual elegance and in-hand comfort.
The overall form factor aims to feel natural and balanced, reinforcing the organic inspiration behind the Urban Wild Design concept.
The camera module on the Realme 16 Pro series also reflects attention to detail. It uses PVD coating inspired by fine watchmaking, adding a refined metallic look to the camera island. A high-gloss mirror finish is expected in parts of the module, which integrates seamlessly with the back panel instead of standing out as a separate design element.
The phones will also feature a metallic mid-frame that Realme describes as “luxury,” further reinforcing the premium positioning of the 16 Pro lineup.
The Realme Buds Air8 will launch alongside the 16 Pro series and adopt the same Urban Wild Design philosophy. The earbuds will be available in Master Gold, Master Grey, and an additional Master Purple color option.
Like the smartphones, the Buds Air8 use bio-based organic silicone. The charging case takes design cues from the 16 Pro series camera module, featuring 45-degree beveled edges and flowing rounded corners that connect the top and sides. Realme describes the final look as delivering a diamond-level dazzling appearance, emphasizing both elegance and modernity.
With the Realme 16 Pro series, the brand appears to be pushing beyond conventional smartphone design by blending sustainability, premium materials, and artistic collaboration. The partnership with Naoto Fukasawa and the introduction of Urban Wild Design suggest a strong focus on how a device feels and fits into everyday urban life, not just how it performs.
