Realme is hyping up its upcoming GT5 Pro flagship phone with another teaser, this time spotlighting its impressive camera capabilities, especially the telephoto camera. The teaser hints at what they're calling the "industry's most expensive telephoto setup."
The camera will use Sony's 50MP IMX80 sensor with a 3x optical zoom at f/2.6 aperture. It's rare to find a 3x periscope telephoto setup, and fitting the large sensor required some clever folded optics to maintain a reasonable thickness.
Realme promises both hardware and software tweaks that enable a 6x lossless zoom, with the camera supporting up to an impressive 120x super zoom. Pairing a new computing framework with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor has resulted in a claimed 10% better power efficiency and up to 44% faster frame processing.
While these specs look great on paper, the real test will come in December when the phone hits the market. Only then will we know how well this camera setup performs in real-life scenarios.
