Xiaomi has officially introduced the Redmi Note 15 5G in India, expanding its popular Note series with a refreshed design, a powerful new camera system, and long-term software support. Positioned as a strong mid-range offering, the Redmi Note 15 5G focuses on a slim form factor, a vibrant AMOLED display, reliable performance, and AI-enhanced photography, making it a compelling option for everyday users.
Xiaomi has placed a strong emphasis on design this year. The Redmi Note 15 5G measures just 7.35mm in thickness and weighs around 178 grams, making it the thinnest Redmi Note smartphone to date. Despite its slim profile, the device houses a large battery, which adds to its overall appeal.
The phone also comes with an IP66 rating for water and dust resistance, along with a drop-resistant design certified to MIL-STD-810H standards. This makes the Redmi Note 15 5G more durable than most devices in its segment, offering peace of mind during daily use.
On the front, the Redmi Note 15 5G features a tall 6.77-inch curved AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and fluid animations across the interface.
Additional features include TÜV Triple Eye Care certification, 3840Hz PWM dimming for reduced eye strain, and an impressive peak brightness of up to 3,200 nits. Xiaomi has also included Hydro Touch 2.0 technology, which improves touch responsiveness even when the screen or hands are wet, making the device practical for real-world conditions.
Powering the Redmi Note 15 5G is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, an octa-core chipset built on an efficient 4nm process. Xiaomi claims a 30 percent improvement in CPU performance and a 10 percent boost in GPU performance compared to the previous generation, delivering smoother multitasking and better gaming performance.
The device comes with 8GB of RAM and offers up to 256GB of internal storage, providing ample space for apps, photos, and videos without compromising on speed.
The Redmi Note 15 5G places a strong focus on photography with its 108-megapixel Samsung HN9 primary camera. Paired with Xiaomi’s new MasterPixel technology, the camera delivers improved colour accuracy, enhanced HDR, and better low-light performance.
The main camera also supports optical image stabilization, 4K video recording, and a range of AI-powered editing tools such as AI Erase and AI Remove Reflection. Alongside the primary sensor, there is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera for capturing broader scenes. On the front, a 20-megapixel selfie camera handles video calls and social media content with ease.
Despite its slim design, the Redmi Note 15 5G packs a large 5,520mAh battery. Xiaomi claims up to 1.6 days of usage on a single full charge, making it suitable for heavy daily use.
The device supports 45W wired fast charging, along with 18W reverse charging, allowing users to power up accessories or other devices when needed. Xiaomi also states that the battery is designed to retain long-term health, offering up to five years of reliable usage.
Out of the box, the Redmi Note 15 5G runs on Android 15 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2 custom skin. The company has confirmed that the device will receive the HyperOS 3 update based on Android 16 in the future, bringing features such as HyperIsland, enhanced UI animations, deeper personalization options, improved lock screen customization, and new interactive widgets.
Xiaomi has also committed to long-term support, with four years of Android OS updates and six years of security patches, making the device a future-proof option in the mid-range segment.
The Redmi Note 15 5G includes a wide range of connectivity and convenience features. These include dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Xiaomi Interconnectivity for seamless device integration, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 5, a USB Type-C 2.0 port, an IR blaster, and an in-display fingerprint scanner for secure unlocking.
The Redmi Note 15 5G has been launched in India in three colour options: Black, Mist Purple, and Glacier Blue.
The smartphone is priced at Rs 24,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, while the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model costs Rs 26,999. As part of the introductory offers, buyers can get the device at an effective price of Rs 19,999 and Rs 21,999 respectively through bank credit card discounts and cashback deals.
The first sale of the Redmi Note 15 5G in India is scheduled for 9th January 2026.
