Xiaomi is all set to bring its latest tablet offering, the Redmi Pad 2, to the Indian market on June 18, confirming a feature-packed release with both Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + Cellular variants. With support for stylus input and a price expected to stay under ₹20,000, the Redmi Pad 2 is poised to compete strongly in the mid-range tablet segment.
Xiaomi has been teasing the Redmi Pad 2 under the tagline “Built for More”, emphasizing productivity, multimedia consumption, and on-the-go usability. The device is aimed at users who want a larger screen experience without the bulk of a laptop. Designed with a metal unibody, the tablet maintains a slim profile at just 7.36mm thickness, making it lightweight and portable.
One of the standout features of the Redmi Pad 2 is its 11-inch 2.5K display with a 90Hz refresh rate, promising smooth visuals and vibrant clarity. The display can reportedly reach up to 600 nits of brightness, which makes it suitable for indoor and outdoor use alike. The tablet is clearly tuned for entertainment, packing a quad-speaker setup that delivers immersive audio for streaming, gaming, and video calls.
Under the hood, the tablet is powered by the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra processor, a capable chipset built for multitasking, gaming, and day-to-day performance. Coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage (on the 4G model), the device ensures seamless performance across apps. Users can also expect 4GB + 128GB as a base variant for the Wi-Fi-only model.
The Redmi Pad 2 houses a robust 9,000mAh battery, built to last through long hours of usage—whether for work, study, or binge-watching. It supports 18W fast charging, allowing users to get back to full power without long downtimes.
What sets the Redmi Pad 2 apart in its segment is the confirmed stylus support, making it a versatile option for note-taking, sketching, and navigating the interface with precision. Additionally, Xiaomi has confirmed the launch of a cellular (4G) model, giving users more flexibility with connectivity on the move. The device also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, catering to users who prefer wired audio options.
The tablet comes with an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera, suitable for basic photography and video calls. It will be offered in three attractive color options: Mint Green, Grey, and Violet, giving users stylish choices to suit their preferences.
Although the exact India pricing will be revealed on launch day, international listings suggest competitive pricing. In Europe, the Wi-Fi variant (4GB + 128GB) was listed at €199 (around ₹19,395), and the 4G variant (8GB + 256GB) was listed at €299 (around ₹22,320). Given Xiaomi’s pricing strategy in India, the starting price is expected to stay below ₹20,000.
Post-launch, the Redmi Pad 2 will be available via Amazon.in, Flipkart, mi.com, and offline retail stores across India.
