Samsung’s annual summer Unpacked 2025 event in Brooklyn brought more than just its foldable phone lineup into the spotlight. The tech giant also introduced its latest wearables—the Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and the premium Galaxy Watch Ultra in a striking Titanium Blue finish. These new smartwatches bring cutting-edge upgrades in design, performance, health tracking, and smart features, pushing the boundaries of what wearables can do.
The Galaxy Watch 8 is now Samsung’s thinnest smartwatch yet, measuring just 8.6 mm thick, and is available in 40 mm and 44 mm sizes with color choices like Graphite and Silver. The display has seen a dramatic brightness boost, with the Super AMOLED screens now reaching 3,000 nits, ensuring visibility even under intense sunlight.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic retains its iconic rotating bezel, beloved by long-time Samsung fans. It’s a slightly larger 46 mm, but also more powerful, now boasting 64 GB of storage, double that of its predecessor.
Topping the lineup is the Galaxy Watch Ultra, now available in Titanium Blue. It offers the largest battery of the three (590 mAh), ultra-durable build quality, and performance enhancements aimed at elite users and outdoor enthusiasts.
All three smartwatches are powered by Samsung’s new 3-nanometer Exynos W1000 processor, paired with 2 GB of RAM. The watches run Wear OS 6, skinned with One UI 8 Watch, and come with dual-frequency GPS for enhanced location accuracy, even in urban jungles or deep valleys.
Samsung has also revamped wireless charging, making it faster and more efficient across all models. Battery capacities range from 325 mAh on the 40 mm Watch 8 to 590 mAh on the Watch Ultra, ensuring all-day endurance and rapid recharges.
One of the biggest advancements is in Samsung’s upgraded BioActive Sensor, now introducing two brand-new health metrics:
Runners will appreciate a revamped Running Coach, which now provides real-time pacing cues and detailed post-run form analysis. On the recovery side, Samsung’s improved Bedtime Guidance delves deeper into sleep stages and snoring patterns.
Each morning, users will also receive a personalized Energy Score, combining factors like activity levels, sleep quality, and heart-rate variability into one simple, actionable number.
Thanks to Google’s Gemini AI integration with Wear OS 6, users can interact with their watch through natural voice commands. Start workouts, reply to messages, or check calendar events—all hands-free, making the watch even more independent from your phone.
The Galaxy Watch 8 Series is now available for pre-order on Samsung.com, with retail availability starting July 25, 2025.
With this powerful trio, Samsung reinforces its commitment to smart health, AI-enhanced experiences, and premium wearable design.
