Users of WhatsApp may soon be able to schedule group calls thanks to a new feature. The app's developers are reportedly working on a new button that would allow you to arrange group calls, and they may soon add the functionality, according to a recent report from WABetaInfo.
For users using WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.4.0 and part of the TestFlight programme, the feature is currently accessible. When the functionality is turned on, a new context menu that displays when you click the call button in a group can be used to reach the "Schedule Call" button. Users may now set the start time for group calls and even give them names with the new feature.
All participants in the conversation will receive a notification when the group call is about to begin, allowing them to participate. It appears that both voice and video calls will be compatible with the new feature.
The option for upcoming scheduled group calls can be useful if you frequently need to remind individuals to join meetings or want to prepare for a call in advance. The scheduled group call feature appears to be in development right now, so it might be some time before everyone has access to it.
The instant messaging service recently gained a number of features, including the ability to forward files with captions, new status features, picture-in-picture mode for video conversations on iOS, and more.
