Ahead of CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Samsung has officially introduced the Freestyle+, its latest portable projector designed for flexible viewing and easy setup. Building on the concept of the original Freestyle, the new model brings noticeable upgrades in brightness, audio, and smart projection features, while continuing to focus on portability and versatility rather than raw power.
The Samsung Freestyle+ offers a peak brightness of 430 ISO lumens. While this level of brightness is still best suited for dark or dimly lit rooms, it represents a significant improvement over the previous generation. Samsung claims the Freestyle+ is almost twice as bright as its predecessor, which should make movie nights, casual presentations, and indoor viewing more comfortable, especially when some ambient light is present.
This projector is clearly aimed at users who prioritize convenience and portability over home-theater-level brightness, making it ideal for bedrooms, dorm rooms, or temporary setups.
One of the standout features of the Freestyle+ is its 180-degree rotating design. This allows the projector to display content at virtually any angle without the need for extra mounts or accessories. Users can project onto walls, ceilings, or even floors, making it a versatile option for creative viewing setups.
This flexible design is particularly useful for casual entertainment, such as watching movies while lying in bed or projecting visuals during social gatherings.
Despite its compact size, the Freestyle+ comes equipped with a built-in 360-degree speaker. Samsung says the speaker is tuned to deliver richer and fuller sound compared to previous models, reducing the need for external speakers in small spaces.
For users who want a more immersive audio experience, the projector also supports Q-Symphony, allowing it to work in sync with compatible Samsung soundbars. This setup creates a more layered and cohesive sound experience, blending audio output from both the projector and the soundbar.
Samsung has packed the Freestyle+ with several intelligent projection features designed to simplify setup and improve image quality across different surfaces.
The projector includes 3D Auto Keystone, which automatically corrects image distortion even when projecting onto uneven or non-flat surfaces such as angled walls, curtains, or corners. Real-time Focus continuously adjusts sharpness as the projector is moved or rotated, ensuring the image stays clear without manual intervention.
When used with a projector screen, Screen Fit automatically adjusts the image to match the screen area. Additionally, Wall Calibration analyzes the color or texture of the projection surface and minimizes visual distractions, helping maintain better color accuracy and clarity even on patterned or colored walls.
Samsung has confirmed that the Freestyle+ will go on sale in the first half of 2026. The projector will be showcased at Samsung’s exhibition space during CES 2026, giving attendees a hands-on look at its features and performance. Pricing details have not yet been announced.
The Samsung Freestyle+ is not trying to replace traditional home theater projectors. Instead, it focuses on portability, ease of use, and smart adjustments that make projection simple in almost any space. With improved brightness, flexible projection angles, immersive audio options, and intelligent image correction, the Freestyle+ appears to be a solid choice for users who want a compact, adaptable projector for everyday entertainment.
