Xiaomi's departure from MIUI marks a significant shift. CEO Lei Jun introduced HyperOS in October, set to replace MIUI on various Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices.
Currently, HyperOS is rolling out widely to European Xiaomi 13T Pro units via a 5.8GB OTA update. After installation (which does take time), the OS version will be 1.0.3.0.UMLEUXM, built on Android 14, and includes the December 1, 2023 security patch.
Despite an extensive changelog, HyperOS doesn't drastically differ from MIUI visually. While introducing some new features, it maintains a familiar appearance, resembling a MIUI 15 or even 14.5 update. The rebranding to HyperOS seems aimed at marketing appeal rather than substantial changes.

The update promises device optimization, but real-life performance improvements over MIUI remain unclear. However, users can expect customizable lock screens, refreshed home screen icons, an upgraded multi-window interface, and underlying Google enhancements.
The rollout proceeds in stages, so European Xiaomi 13T Pro users (identified by "EU" in the MIUI Version string) might not have received the update notification yet. Nonetheless, the release is not limited to beta or specific testers; it's a full-fledged update for all users.
