Motorola has officially launched the Motorola Edge 70, also known as the Moto X70 Air in China. The device marks Motorola’s latest step in the premium mid-range segment, bringing together a super-slim 6mm aluminum design, Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, and cutting-edge display technology. Announced on October 14, 2025, the phone is expected to hit markets globally by October 31, 2025.
The Edge 70 inherits the design philosophy of the X70 Air, combining elegance with robust engineering. Despite its thin 6mm body, it includes IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance, MIL-STD-810H durability, and a powerful 4,800mAh battery — an impressive feat in this category.
The Motorola Edge 70 showcases an ultra-thin profile at just 6mm and weighs 159 grams, making it one of the slimmest 5G smartphones of 2025. It features a Gorilla Glass 7i front, an aluminum frame, and is built to handle everyday wear with MIL-STD-810H compliance.
Motorola has gone a step further by providing IP68/IP69 certification, ensuring the device can withstand dust, immersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes, and even high-pressure water jets. Available in stylish Pantone-inspired colors, the Edge 70 delivers a minimalist yet premium look.
At the heart of the Edge 70 is a 6.7-inch P-OLED display that supports 1 billion colors, HDR10+, and a 120Hz refresh rate. With a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, this panel ensures exceptional visibility under all lighting conditions.
The screen also features PWM dimming for reduced eye strain, while the 1220 x 2712 resolution (446 ppi) ensures crisp details and vibrant contrast. Protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, it balances beauty with resilience.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 (4nm) chipset, the Motorola Edge 70 brings solid performance for multitasking, gaming, and everyday use. It features an octa-core CPU and Adreno 722 GPU, ensuring smooth graphics and responsive performance.
The device runs on Android 16, with Motorola promising three major OS upgrades, ensuring long-term software support. Users can choose between two variants — 12GB RAM with 256GB storage or 12GB RAM with 512GB storage, both using UFS 3.1 for faster data speeds.
The Motorola Edge 70 packs a dual rear camera system designed for clarity and flexibility:
It supports 4K video recording at 30fps, along with gyro-EIS stabilization for smooth footage.
On the front, a 50MP selfie camera delivers stunning portraits and 4K video support — ideal for content creators and vloggers.
Motorola enhances the multimedia experience with stereo speakers tuned by Dolby Atmos, offering immersive sound quality. However, in keeping with modern design standards, the device omits the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and QZSS. It also features USB Type-C 2.0 with OTG support.
Despite its thin frame, the Edge 70 houses a 4,800mAh battery, outperforming many competitors in this size range. The device supports 68W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging, allowing users to recharge quickly and conveniently.
The Motorola Edge 70 is listed as coming soon, with an expected global release date of October 31, 2025. The price in India has not been officially announced, but early estimates suggest it will be around ₹70,000.
Given its premium materials, thin profile, and well-balanced hardware, the Motorola Edge 70 is poised to compete with other mid-premium smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and OnePlus 14R.
